Health Tip #2

Hey everyone!

Fitbrose_swoosh coming at you again with another tip of the day!

I hope everybody hump-day is off to a good start, I know that with Wednesdays it can either be something to look forward too, or just another day on the calendar. But I hope that no matter what everyone is at least up and about today! I know that for some if not most of us, being able to stay active while at work can sometimes be difficult especially when we our job may consist of us being at a desk all day. But I have some very simple and easy suggestions that can help with the worry that being at a desk will cause you to put on some UN-wanting pounds. These tips will also allow for better blood flow through out the whole body and may relieve some stress/pain that can be placed on ones back, and hip flexors from sitting for to long.

Suggestion #1)

When you start to feel a little ache start to begin in your back the first thing I recommend, is to go from sitting to standing, I mean there is nothing wrong with answering a few phone calls standing up right?! I mean if anything you are going to one help increase the blood flow to your legs and which feet which when it comes to sitting all day that is usually the first areas of your body to lose blood supply because when sitting you are compressing muscles and when this happens you are also decreasing blood flow not only to those limbs but also from the limbs back up to the heart. That is the last thing that we want to happen is to have blood flow not reach the heart.

Suggestion #2)

While at a desk I know that with back pain is the cause of either bad posture when sitting in our chairs or its the inability of our core muscles to turn on and so we are having to rely on our back muscles to keep us standing up right. Well I think it is time to start having our back do all the work and actually have our core do it for us, so I will attach a video that I thought you would be great to get the core activated. There are many variations to the exercise that I am doing put it is simply getting into a plank position and then engaging the core so that we can work on those stabilizing muscles that help keep our body upright and doesn't allow for any poor postural issues.
